CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – The Void is set to open downtown as Casper’s first young adult night club. The new spot will not only be a place for high school age students to party though. The Void will also offer workshops and study areas. These work shops will be a week long and teach those who are interested anything from stage and set design, to AutoCAD and even some culinary arts work shops.
The Void was an idea created by three partners, two of whom are only seniors in high school. They recognized the need for a safe place for students to go after school and on weekends.
“I’m in high school still but every weekend it seems like me and my friends are like, what are we going to do this weekend? What can we do at 10:00 at night? Really nothing other than a couple places that stay open a little later but they’re only open until around 11 or 12,” said Trent Campbell, one of the founding partners of The Void.
All of the projects and classes that are offered at The Void will be taught by licensed instructors. Many of the classes will also come with credentials so those who participate will be certified in that field or project type. Prices of these classes will be based on the cost of the instructor so if the instructor is willing to give their time for free classes will be no cost for these students.
Breckyn Burke-Simmons who is the other young founder of The Void said, “At the end of the day those workshops are there for opportunities for those kids. We want to make sure that they take something home from those workshops. Of course it’s something that’s interesting but we want to provide that option for them to be able to express themselves through those workshops.”
Along with these classes The Void will also host video game and study areas. For now they have three televisions set up for their gaming spaces but they are also planning to add three more after their continued remodeling. They will also have a designated area for virtual reality gaming.
For the events and parties that The Void plans to host, the young adults will be in charge of finding performers and DJ’s. They will be flying in these acts from all across the country. They will also be serving non-alcoholic drinks and food for these events.
They plan to hold the grand opening on Friday April 22nd and Saturday April 23rd. The grand opening will be events for youth to introduce the venue and video gaming spaces.
