With long-established roots in Fremont County, Wyoming Community Bank is more than experienced bankers, they are your partner, your neighbor, your friend. The people that work there are part of this community just like you and me. They care and it shows in the service they provide. Mortgage Loan Officer, Autumn Roberts is one of these people.
We took a moment to talk with Autumn about her day-to-day at the bank and what makes Wyoming Community Bank great.
Autumn Roberts has worked at Wyoming Community Bank in Lander since October 2017.
Tell me what you do at Wyoming Community Bank and what you enjoy about it.
I’m a Mortgage Loan Officer for WCB. I cover the Lander, Hudson and Dubois areas while our Loan Officer, Kathy Caprioni, covers Riverton, Shoshoni and Thermopolis. We provide a variety of lending options in the mortgage department. I can help you through the process of buying a home, refinancing your home, and even building your dream home. There are many different options we have that can be tailored to your specific situation.
I enjoy the challenge of this industry. Every day is different and comes with its own set of challenges to overcome. It is a joy to see the excitement of first-time homebuyers when we’ve made it through the whole process and they finally get to experience home ownership. I love when I get follow-up pictures and texts of them in their new home.
What are some of the common mistakes people make when taking out a mortgage?
The most common misconception is that a mortgage loan is “one-size fits all” when in reality every situation is unique and different and is specifically tailored for each borrower.
It’s also a good idea to meet with a lender prior to going out and looking for homes. Having a pre-approval letter in hand helps the process go a lot smoother. It also allows the borrower to know what they truly qualify for so they don’t get their hearts set on a home that is over their budget.
Tell me a little about yourself.
I am originally from Sheridan, WY, and am a Wyoming girl at heart. My husband grew up in Fremont County and we moved back to the area 7 years ago. I love the diversity of activities that our county provides and my family and I take advantage of it as much as possible. I also enjoy being active in my community and volunteering my time as much as I can. I am very active in my local church and I sit on the board of the Christian School in Lander, Elevation Academy. I have had the privilege of being a part of Leadership Fremont County this year and have appreciated learning more about what makes this place we call home so unique and special.
